NSBE MAP Paints for MLK Day of Service

Last month, NSBE MAP celebrated the life of this great trailblazer in American history, Martin Luther King Jr., through the MLK Day of Service event hosted by City Year Milwaukee. We had the opportunity to help with small beautification projects at Lancaster Public School. Volunteers painted interior walls with motivational messages, vibrant colors, and school spirit to encourage a productive learning environment.

NSBE MAP executive board was joined by our members, family and friends, and Rockwell Automation in our pursuit share a positive message at the school. Our murals and words of encouragement included "It takes a village", "Believe in Lancaster", and "Community" which was featured on Journal Sentinel Online.

What better way to lead into the new quarter, Black History Month, and Engineers Week? We will keep the momentum by sharing Black STEMories from our Black STEM contributors including scientists, inventors, and more. Follow us on social media to learn about more great leaders in our history that should be celebrated.
